Some days are just perfect.
Kenzo is getting more confident about getting into the action at soccer. He's starting to not be so afraid of getting bumped or hit. This video doesn't do it justice, but it shows his determination to be part of the winning solution, and I was so excited watching him. I always yell and cheer and call his name, much to the discomfort of the other more discreet parents.
And then came post-soccer time. It was 16°C when we got done at soccer club so we stopped off at Japan Meat in Ichinazaka, loaded up on beef tongue, drinks, and various other stuff and when we hit the driveway I busted out the charcoal and got it going.
Eri complained that I cook the meat too slow, but I know slow is better.
Barbecue in the driveway isn't just about eating.
It's a special experience. With meat.
Eri and the boys headed inside after a while and I sat there grilling and drinkin' beer and staring at the crazy blue sky until dusk.
