There's a mention of tap shoes in one of the boys' new favorite books, If You Give a Pig a Pancake. They ask me every time what tap shoes are, so I act out tap dancing, which they are very curious about. Then the other night I Googled Gene Kelly and we watched a YouTube clip before bed. That led to this...
They discovered the movie Singin' In the Rain, and they laughed like crazy. After about halfway, though, they moved to on to other shenanigans.
Specifically, birthday shenanigans for Kenzo.
He's been counting down the days, and he loves cake. Osamu loves getting a birthday cake but he usually has two bites and is done.
So now we have a five-year-old and a seven-year-old in the house.
In a failed attempt to keep Kenzo occupied this morning I was printing him mazes while I wrapped up the last day of work before my summer vacation. He kept coming back every few minutes with a completed maze and asking for a harder one.
Finally he decided to simply taunt me. He wrote on the top of this one, which I was sure would stump him, "2 sakinz".
Two seconds. He's better at phonics than at spelling so far. And he's even better at hyperbole. Apparently this maze was so easy it only took him two seconds to finish.
