Today was Osamu's last full day of his first year of kindergarten. Next month he'll be in his new 2nd year class and wearing a uniform every day.
Eri got a sack of old clothes from one of the moms at the bus stop and these pants suit Osamu so perfectly.
He reminds me of one of the Little Rascals. At first I thought he wasn't going to like the pants, but after some extra praise from mama and papa he seemed very proud of his "new" fashionable wardrobe.
I work upstairs in my "office" all day, taking occasional breaks to go out and get my 8 kilometers in as well as to bring in and fold laundry or vacuum the staircase or other household things. Now that the boys are home for spring break I take breaks to come downstairs and give them hugs, see how they're doing, and play jokes like sneaking up on them or going in for a hug and then tackling them. They cackle with joy every time.
Often they are deep into their crafts, however, and have no time for my shenanigans.
I love watching them make things. Kenzo is getting more and more creative with his use of origami paper, glue, tape, stamps, crayons, and markers. I'm thinking of picking up some watercolor paints for him.
Osamu seems to have a bright future as a confetti manufacturer. He loves using his scissors to cut cut cut.
It was Kenzo's turn to choose the bedtime story tonight and he chose a Japanese book about chimpanzees. Luckily Eri was up for it, tired as she was.
