Eri drove down to Watari by herself this morning to see her two-week-old nephew Kazuki for the first time.
Eri isn't the most confident driver but she is very capable. Driving an hour south of Sendai by herself is no small feat for her. However, she did it a couple of months ago at night when her sister got covid and needed a grocery delivery.
I have to pretend to be concerned. It amuses me that family squabbles still happen in the year 2023. Over things that won't matter when you look back on your life and wish you had just knocked it off and enjoyed your life and family and practiced gratitude for all of it.
John Hiatt is one of my favorite musicians. I saw him on the David Letterman show when I was in high school and I was hooked. I've had that song Feels Like Rain stuck in my head today. For no good reason other than I love it and it randomly popped into my head for the first time in over twenty years.
Eri cut the boys' hair tonight after dinner. Kindergarten graduation is the day after tomorrow and Kenzo's mop is especially shaggy these days. Osamu announced to me that he wants to go to my barber next time. Not only that, he also wants to go to my dentist. I'm considering taking him.
Kenzo wants no part of any of these plans.
