Eri bought a thing that unlocks the front door with your fingerprint. I wasn't into it at the beginning, as this photo seems to show. Though to be fair to the universe, that burned-out look is kinda my default these days.
I like it now, though. It automatically locks the door after five seconds and you can lock and unlock the door on your phone as well. I'm still gonna keep my house key in my bag for a while.
Soccer Saturday.
Kenzo's friend's dad was particularly chatty this morning as we watched the boys play. It turns out that a couple of weekends ago when Eri went out for dinner with that same friend's mom she said I commented about how I always try to chat up her husband but he seems to shy away. He is a quiet guy.
This morning he was asking me about kindergarten graduation and seasonal allergies and all kinds of things. I loved it. Talking with people is one of my very favorite things.
The boys had a 17:30 dentist appointment, but they weren't aware of that until we pulled into the dentist's parking lot at 17:20. Kenzo burst into tears. Osamu was indignant. He just plainly stated, "Papa, this is not good and I don't like it."
Osamu was mostly cool. He held my hand. It's just a photo of their teeth, a quick check, some brushing, and some apple flavored fluoride to top it all off.
Kenzo on the other hand...
The boys were already tired because after soccer we played at Murasakiyama Park for a couple of hours. Add in Kenzo's quick unloading of energy from crying at the dentist and ohhhhh boy there was some surliness tonight. Kenzo could barely keep his eyes open as we ate mama's delicious yakisoba for dinner.
I love putting mayonnaise on my yakisoba. Osamu, being Osamu, asks me to put mayonnaise on his yakisoba too. Kenzo always declines "new" things, but tonight he asked for some mayo and he actually liked it.
Both of them got tucked in at 19:35 and when I checked on them five minutes later they were already sawing logs.
